Welcome to Thrive Resource Room, where you will hear about Thrive updates and learn about free and affordable community resources to help your organization!

Learn about opportunities for pro bono consulting on how to create a successful strategic planning process for your nonprofit and the importance of local media and how to engage with the press. You will also get an overview of Thrive member benefits and how to get more involved in our cross-sector network.

During this session you will learn about:

  • Launching a successful strategic planning process for your nonprofit: David Rhode, Deputy Director of PennPAC will discuss the key steps and considerations that will enable your organization to carry out an effective strategic planning process. David Rhode is the Deputy Director of PennPAC, an organization that utilizes University of Pennsylvania alumni to provide pro bono consulting to the nonprofit sector. Prior to joining PennPAC, David founded and scaled a global nonprofit organization for 14 years. He has his MBA from The Wharton School and teaches Nonprofit Branding at the University of Pennsylvania. 
  • Local media impacts: Michelle Iracheta, Editor & Reporter, Redwood City Pulse, will speak about Redwood City Pulse's mission, and how it intersects with both the nonprofit sector and the community at large. Michelle will also discuss the impact of local media on the community and how you can spotlight your organization on the Redwood City Pulse website. In her career spanning nearly a decade, Michelle has covered mental health, public safety, disability rights, education, and city government. Her work has also appeared in the Las Vegas Review-Journal, The Seattle Times, and the Honolulu Star-Advertiser. She is the recipient of a first-place Blethen Award from the Pacific Northwest Newspaper Association and has earned recognition from nonprofit Investigative Reporters and Editors. Prior to joining the Pulse, Michelle worked at the Houston Chronicle.

We encourage you to send staff members and volunteers (especially new ones!) to one of our sessions to ensure that they are taking advantage of Thrive's resources and opportunities.
