As San Mateo County moves towards creating its own VOAD/COAD, (Volunteer Organizations Active in Disaster, Community Organizations Active in Disaster), SFCARD, Thrive Alliance, Red Cross Northern California Coastal Region, Second Harvest of Silicon Valley, and San Mateo County Department of Emergency Management invite you to discuss how San Mateo County Community Based Organizations, Faith Based Organizations and Government can better coordinate during disasters. We will discuss what a VOAD/COAD is, how it can work in our County, and how it will benefit San Mateo County’s disaster response.

We will be joined by special guest Marsha Hovey, Interim Executive Director of CADRE (Collaborating Agencies’ Disaster Relief Effort), Santa Clara County's VOAD/COAD, to talk about our neighboring county's experience.
