We explore the unique barriers that renters face to electrify their homes, highlighting the challenges of developing and implementing electrification programs that serve both renters and homeowners. We will also identify best practices for fostering landlord-tenant collaboration for a greener, healthier future. Join us for this two-part series and see more details on each event below:

Event 2: Healthy Homes for All: Landlords & Tenants Working Towards Electrification
May 23, 2:00 - 3:30 pm, Virtual

Renters face significant barriers to accessing electrification programs in the Bay Area due to complex qualification criteria and a variety of other factors. The barriers to participating in home electrification programs vary for single-family and multifamily dwellings. In this session, we look to models both in and outside of the Bay Area to understand the design of existing home improvement programs that serve single-family and multifamily home renters. Sean Armstrong, co-founder and Managing Principal of Redwood Energy, will present from the diverse knowledge he has accumulated throughout his extensive experience in multifamily electrification. We will present best practices for collaboration between landlords and tenants in electrification efforts, as well as barriers to their involvement in home electrification programs.
