Student-focused Partnerships: Strengthening Communications Among Schools, Out-of-school-time Providers and Families
Tues, April 13, 2:30 - 4:00 pm
Thrive Children & Education Peer Learning Series meets monthly to feature speakers and facilitated dialogue with a focus on mitigating learning loss through a multitude of nonprofit activities, ranging from learning hubs to summer programs. At our kick-off session, we heard from out-of-school time providers that key factors in determining student success are a strong relationship and frequent communication between the providers and the school districts where those students are enrolled.
The next event in our series will highlight best practices in supporting students through positive communication between providers and schools. We will hear from the Learning Hub network of Marin Promise Partnership as well as a local school-hub partnership. We are pleased that San Mateo County Superintendent Nancy Magee will be joining us for our conversation on strengthening this critical relationship to benefit our youth.
The event will conclude with a special demonstration from local provider Fit Kids, which can offer Learning Hubs a free add-on program to keep their students moving.
This series is made possible through the generous support of the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative.
Partners: Community Equity Collaborative; County of San Mateo; InPlay; Offices of Supervisors Carole Groom and Dave Pine; San Mateo County Office of Education; Stanford Haas Center for Public Service.
