San Mateo County Strengthens Protections for Immigrant Communities
Dear Community,
Supervisor Corzo and Supervisor Mueller are introducing an ordinance that strengthens local protections for immigrant residents and enhances transparency regarding law enforcement activities involving federal immigration agencies.
The ordinance limits the use of County property and resources for federal immigration enforcement, requires regular public reporting on any communications with immigration authorities, and sets clear standards for law enforcement identification and the limited use of facial coverings. These measures aim to improve accountability and reinforce the County’s commitment to safety, trust, and community well-being.
Call to Action: We encourage nonprofit partners and residents to attend the Board meeting on TOMORROW, November 18, 2025, to demonstrate their support for this critical work.
We’re excited to introduce Civic Threads, a new way to stay connected through quick updates and timely alerts about what’s happening in our community and how you can get involved. Think of it as your direct line to important civic news, opportunities to take action, and ways to stand in solidarity with nonprofits and community members.
This alert system is designed to keep you informed and engaged. We look forward to weaving our community together through Civic Threads and keeping you connected to the issues and opportunities that matter most to you.
