Stand with San Mateo County to Protect Essential VLF Funding

San Mateo County faces a $100 million annual shortfall in Vehicle License Fee funding, impacting vital community services.

County leaders urge immediate action at the state level. We need your active participation: bring your organization and stand with us at an upcoming press conference to visibly demonstrate strong community support.

Why this matters

If this issue is not resolved, the County could lose close to $1 billion over the next decade. These losses would impact core services such as public safety, health and mental health care, and housing programs.

Insights from the Nonprofit Pulse Report show that nonprofits are already experiencing increased demand alongside constrained resources, underscoring the importance of reliable public funding.

Join us in person for this Nonprofit Advocacy Series 201 workshop to strengthen your skills in engaging elected officials.

Build a deeper understanding of how to engage local elected officials and government staff effectively. This training will break down navigating relationship-building within legal parameters, securing key votes, and understanding when to meet with elected officials and government staff.

Through real-life examples and practice, you will strengthen your ability to advance your organization or coalition's policy priorities and advocacy campaign goals.

This workshop is the third workshop in the Nonprofit Advocacy Series 201—brought to you by Thrive Alliance and Silicon Valley Council of Nonprofits, thanks to a grant from the Silicon Valley Community Foundation.
